What’s inside your home?

What’s inside your home? One of the things I did growing up was look inside other peoples windows while I passed by on the street. Not to be nosy, but to search for something. Search for joy, love, happiness. Something. Anything. ........ I’m exhausted. Mentally, physically, emotionally. But, as much as I can’t, I need to. These girls wanted to decorate their tree tonight. I wanted to rest. Sit. Close off.

But no, they needed to decorate their tree. Their tree is not themed with new ornaments every year, or fancy bows and expensive taste. Their tree is made of memories. Their first ornaments, their crafts made in school, their reindeer feet and little hand prints. Their Disney princesses, bears, angels, ornaments of all colors and full of glitter.

This tree is memories twirled around and around with streaming lights.

As they were decorating, I saw how much this moment among many moments meant to them. This was what was happening in my home. I had the blinds closed, like I do most nights when it’s me and the girls. But tonight, I wanted people to see in. I wanted a little girl or boy passing by to see what’s happening in my home. A neighbor to witness....something....anything. This picture signifies my life. A life with joy, time, love, and happiness....all through one little window frame. So, what’s inside your home?
